Summary: Researchers show that 90 percent of sea birds have consumed plastic, 80 percent of all sea birds were known to have plastic in 2012 less than 5 percent of plastic in 1960, researchers have predicted that by 2050, 99 percent of sea birds will have consumed plastic. Many birds are attracted to the brightness and colors of the colors thinking it is food therefore they eat it. Many of the birds have died from the consumption of plastic.
Plastic contains some toxic chemicals such as, DDT and PCBs when the birds swallow the plastic they are being expose to these chemicals. Almost being impossible to clean up the ocean from the waste we expose these animals to, we are able to at least reduce the amount of plastic reduce into the ocean.

Reflection: I chose this article for the because i am a person who loves animals and i am willing to do anything to help the animals. The title and image of this article caught my eyes the first time i took a view on it. Made me think on how much damage us humans do to the earth with out even realizing what revolves around us and how we affect it. I also chose this article because in class we watched a video about plastic and also showed a doctor who dissect the bird and taking out over 3 lbs of plastic that the bird has consumed.
What i had found interesting in this article about this article is the fact that research have concluded that by 2050, 99 percent of sea bird would have consumed plastic, thinking how this animals contribute to our ecosystem i am questioning how much impact will the loss of sea birds come to when the population starts to decrease.
