Main points
- 71% of the earth is covered with water (ocean)
- The water in the ocean is 90% biosphere in volume
- Life first started in the ocean, and the ocean contains more species than land
- The ocean does not contain as many plants as on land due to the fact that that the concentration of nutrients are lower in the ocean
- Most of the salt water plants grow faster but still they have shorter life, land plant may take longer to grow but they do have longer life span than the plant in the ocean
- the tidal zone vary due to the of climate changing and seasonal temps, where winds blow and all.
- 250,000 species that have been named that live in the ocean. researchers and scientist believe there are more spices in the ocean to be discover

My Reflection |
The ocean is 71% of the earth knowing that scientist say that it was where life was first started. So many species that are under the ocean only 250,000 has been discovered and named after there could be more but scientist have not discovered them due to the fact that they have not found a way to fight the the oceans pressure the deepest surface and also the darkest and coldest because sunlight can not hit that area. The author informs the reader about the marine ecosystem however they also demonstrate us how the marine resources are being overuse and damage, altho the ocean may be big humans are also invading habitats and endangering animals that live in the ocean. Knowing that the ocean may have more nitrogen and how plants can grow faster there is still more plants on land that in the ocean.

I personally Love the ocean and the creature that live in the ocean. I think it is cool how the ocean is such a big marine ecosystem there is still a lot to be discover. However we are also reasons why the biggest ecosystem is being destroyed by us, when fishing the new developed techniques harm the ecosystem as well as it destroys them, learning in class the different strategies of fishing and how we are harming the ocean upsets me. Also the climate changing is a problem and the low amount of oxygen being held in the ocean most of it becoming salty and going through a process call ocean acidification. I believe that the ocean life should be taken care of since it is the biggest ecosystem and it is 71% of the earth.
